  • Losing and gaining medals on the Arena mode

Medals are the basis of the match making system in the game. Players are matched against other players who have similar amount of medals. This way beginners and pros don't end up in the same matches. This makes it more interesting and fair.

On lower Arenas you gain medals easier but it gets harder when you get higher. When you reach the leagues you need to win more than you lose to stay there.

If the match making can't find other players in a reasonable time it will search wider and wider until it finds other players. That is why you can sometimes end up in matches with higher or lower players. How much you win and lose medals depends who you play against. If the others are higher than you and you still win you are rewarded more medals. If you lose to players who have less medals than you... you also lose more medals. That is why you sometimes only win 0 medals. It means you were playing against others who had significantly lower in medals than you.

I think it's a little unfair the whole medal system I win a match I get 25 medals max if I loose I can go down 30+ and 2nd place you only get 12-18 medals I think all this should be increased.

If you would always win more and lose less you would get higher in medals all the time. Even a noobie who has no skills would eventually end up in the high Arenas. Only the amount of played games would matter. To get to the top it should not be about the quantity of matches but about your skills (and some luck).

The point of the medal system is to create fair matches between players on the similar skill level. If you want to be among the best players you need to play well.

Ge shark this happens at every start of the season, your medals reset for the Robot Arena, so you can try to reach the same score as last season and be entitled to collect the chests again to get Xp, gold and items.

It is not necessary to gain more than to loose, but it should be equal, you can win max. 25, you should loose max. 25 medals. And: you are not only competing players with similar amounts, I often meet players with much higher or even lower amount of medals! How can this be? Right now I was playing against a player with 2401 medals and another one with 1321 medals in one match in the seagardens arena (1600 to 2000 medals)! WHY?!?!?

That is why you can sometimes end up in matches with higher or lower players. It has now only been about a month and there is not yet enough players on each medal range on each region looking for matches at the same time to always match everyone perfectly. More players start on the Arena mode every day and you should start to see less and less of players from other medal ranges.

    Hi Raisa,

I understand the reason why even not comparable players meet in the arena, but perhaps you can explain me the following:
Very often I have to match players who have more medals than me. These players are obviously much more experienced and "better" than me which increases the possibilty for me to loose. The loosing itself is in this case not the main problem but loosing the same amount of medals as if I loose against "equal" players. And it gets worse when you are in the bronce arena, being 1st -> earning 22 medals, being 4th -> loosing 50 (!!!) medals. I know that also other players with a lower stack of medals meet me and it is understandable these may think this is also unfair.
In my opinion I rather get to play better than worse players, is this possible?

I think that only similar players should "exchange" medals in the same height, when a player with low amount of medals defeats one with high amount, he/she should gain more, while loosing the loss should be less and vice versa.

Perhaps you can think about it.

    Thanks in advance.

      .
This is exactly how it works right now. That is why sometimes someone can only win 1 medal (it used to be 0 but we changed it). If the player is matched with others who are way lower in medals it is an easy win to him and he is not rewarded as much...and vice versa. You do win more if you are lower on medals and beat the guys who are higher than you. I don't remember how much the medal difference must be before it affects the winning/losing medals though. It is more obvious in the Arenas but you always lose quite a lot on the leagues even against your equals.
